Neon Horizon – A City That Never Sleeps

Neon Horizon throws you into the rain-soaked streets of Kerova, a sprawling metropolis where corporations rule and the line between human and machine has become dangerously thin. This action RPG is fast, stylish, and unapologetically bold. It takes the best elements of cyberpunk fiction and delivers them with a modern action game polish.

The moment you start the game, you feel the atmosphere. It is heavy, humid, and charged with electricity. The city is alive with neon signs, flying vehicles, and crowds of people going about their lives. Every corner is saturated with detail: graffiti on walls, flickering holograms, steam rising from vents. Your character is a freelance mercenary who is dragged into a conspiracy that threatens to tear the city apart.

Gameplay is centred on fast-paced combat that combines gunplay, melee strikes, and hacking abilities. You can slash through enemies with a katana, disrupt their systems with quick hacks, or engage in the slow-motion bullet time that the game calls "Focus Mode." The combat system is responsive and encourages experimentation. You can upgrade your skills and gear at local clinics and black market stores, which adds a satisfying layer of progression.

The story is driven by strong characters. Your allies and enemies are not one-dimensional. They have their own motivations, and the game lets you decide who to trust. These choices lead to different branches in the narrative. Some choices are not obviously right or wrong, which makes them memorable. You can finish the game with different allies, different endings, and different visions of the city's future.

The side quests are worth mentioning. Unlike many games where side missions feel like filler, in Neon Horizon they are often small stories that reveal more about the world. You might help a retired boxer get his old gym back, or investigate a series of mysterious disappearances in the subway. These missions feel like part of the city's life.

On the technical side, the game is well optimized. It runs at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in performance mode. The PC version supports both DLSS and FSR, which means it can run well on a wide range of hardware. The recommended GPU is an RTX 3060 or equivalent, but the game can be played on lower settings with cards as old as a GTX 1660 Ti.

In terms of platforms, Neon Horizon is available on PC via Steam and GOG, on PlayStation 5, and on Xbox Series X|S. It is not available on Switch, and the developers have said they have no plans to port it to last-generation consoles.

The price is CAD 59.99 for the standard edition. A Deluxe Edition costs CAD 74.99 and includes the season pass, which adds three story expansions. Sales happen quite often, and you can often find the base game for around CAD 39.99 during seasonal promotions.

The ESRB rating is M for Mature, age 17+. The game includes strong violence, blood, and occasional coarse language. It is not suitable for younger audiences. We recommend this title for adults who enjoy gritty action games with meaningful choice systems.

Neon Horizon is a confident game with a clear vision. It is not afraid to make bold choices in its story, and it offers a combat system that stays fun from beginning to end. If you are looking for a stylish, action-packed cyberpunk adventure, this is one of the best options currently available in Canada.
